Oleksandr Lytvynenko

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko is a Ukrainian statesman, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist of Ukraine. He has over 30 years of experience in national security and strategic analysis. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and the National Institute for Strategic Studies, and served as the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. He graduated from the Institute of Cryptography, Communications, and Informatics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom.

Since March 26, 2024, he has served as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He holds the military rank of Major General and is a second-class civil servant. For his outstanding contributions to national security, he has been awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise (V degree) and the Jubilee Medal “25 Years of Ukraine’s Independence.”
