Chairperson of the Management Board of PrivatBank
Mikael Bjorknert is an experienced financial sector professional with over 25 years of expertise, who is leading PrivatBank since January 2025. Prior to this, he headed the banking business division at Swedbank, where he was responsible for the full range of banking services, including retail and corporate banking, operational processes, and digital transformation. Under his leadership, Swedbank successfully implemented several key initiatives in strategic planning and digitization.
Mr. Bjorknert is a recognized international expert in banking, having previously served as the chairman of GetSwish and Bankgirot in Sweden, as well as a board member of Nasdaq (Nordic). In addition, he led the global transaction services division at SEB Bank on both international and national levels.
