Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for Eurointegration

Since 2019, Valeriya Ionan has been driving digital reforms and leading initiatives in Ukraine to support the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraineʼs vision of building the most convenient digital state in the world. Her work spans advancing digital literacy through initiatives like Diia.Education and IT-studios, fostering SME digital maturity via Diia.Business, and spearheading innovation through Ukrainian Global Innovation Strategy 2030 (WINWIN). She also focuses on promoting regional digital transformation, building capacity for Chief Digital Transformation Officers and future public sector leaders through CDTO Campus, enhancing European integration, and strengthening Ukraine’s Digital Brand globally with Digital State UA.

Valeriya plays a pivotal role in coordinating key international initiative for Ukraine’s digital resilience, such as the Tallinn Mechanism, and attracting leading GovTech and innovative initiatives to Ukraine. Her efforts in fostering international partnerships and promoting Ukrainian GovTech solutions have been instrumental in positioning Ukraine as a global leader in digital transformation and innovation.

In March 2023, Valeriya was included in the Lasting Legacy book by Mastercard as one of the 25 women leaders worldwide who significantly impact society and governments. She was also included in the EYL#40 in 2023 and listed in “Ukrainska Pravda 100. Women of Power.”
