Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Government of Estonia

Lauri Luht is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Government of Estonia. 

He oversees the country’s digital policies and innovation agenda, with a focus on secure and resilient public digital services, artificial intelligence, and data-driven governance.

Previously, he served as Counsellor at the Estonian Embassy in Ukraine and as the Front-Office representative to the Tallinn Mechanism, coordinating international support for Ukraine’s cybersecurity. Lauri has also led Estonia’s National Situation Centre at the Government Office, headed the Eastern Partnership portfolio at ESTDEV, and worked at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

He has long-standing experience in cybersecurity, crisis management, and digital governance, and holds an MA in Political Science / International Relations.
